Renfield ist schon jahrhundertelang der gequälte Gehilfe des narzisstischen Dracula. Anders als beim dunklen Graf wird Renfield eines Tages seinem Leben überdrüssig. Zu lange schon beschafft er die Beute seines Meisters und befolgt dessen Befehle, egal wie unwürdig diese auch ausfallen mögen. Er begibt sich daraufhin in eine Selbsthilfegruppe und versucht sein Leben in die Hand zu nehmen, um nicht länger im Schatten von Dracula verweilen zu müssen. Nachdem er feststellt, dass er auf ewig an den Fürsten der Finsternis gebunden ist, gilt es erst einmal herauszufinden, wie er diese Co-Abhängigkeit brechen kann. Unterstützung erhält er dabei von Rebecca Quincy, die er aus der Selbsthilfegruppe kennt. Es folgt ein Kampf gegen die Zeit, um sich aus den Fängen seines Herrschers zu befreien.

Horrorkomödie mit Nicolas Cage als Dracula, in der sein Handlanger Renfield versucht, sich aus der Knechtschaft seines Meisters zu befreien.
