15 Jahre. So lange wird Oh Dae-su, ein ganz durchschnittlicher Geschäftsmann und Familienmensch, in einem Ein-Zimmer-Appartment ohne Fenster eingesperrt, nachdem er von unbekannten Gangstern überwältigt und entführt wurde. 15 Jahre ohne jeden menschlichen Kontakt und in völliger Unklarheit darüber, warum und wie lange er festgehalten wird. Aus den Fernsehnachrichten erfährt er vom Mord an seiner Ehefrau, den die Täter ihm in die Schuhe schieben. Als er ebenso unvermittelt, wie er seiner Freiheit beraubt wurde, wieder in diese entlassen wird, stellt ihm sein Entführer die Aufgabe, den Grund für die unaussprechliche Tortur herauszufinden. Doch Oh Dae-su kennt nur ein Ziel: Er will Rache üben. Rache an denen, die sein Leben zerstört, seine Frau getötet und seinen Seelenfrieden für immer auf dem Gewissen haben.

Janosch hält es bei seiner Mutter, die auf ihm gluckt, nicht mehr aus. Er flieht nach Dortmund zu seinem Idol Koma. Der Skin, Kickboxer und Oi-Konzerte-Abtänzer, führt ihn in die Skin-Szene ein. Janosch lernt aber auch den netten Punk Zottel kennen und lieben. Schließlich muß er sich zwischen Koma und Zottel entscheiden.

| teenager following his identity crisis. The boy, transformed by the |

| more and more conflicts which eventually leads to an atrocious end |
| for the punk. The film offers scenes of homophobic violence by |

| subculture). |

Im Jahr 2041 muss man an keinem unnatürlichen Tod mehr sterben. Dank des technologischen Fortschritts kann die Menschheit nach einem Unfall oder Mord wieder ins Leben zurückkehren. Grund dafür sind digitale Backups, die alle 48 Stunden durchgeführt werden. Der menschliche Körper wird wiederhergestellt und das Backup sichert das Bewusstsein. Dem Tod nicht mehr ausgeliefert zu sein, wirft viele ethische und existenzielle Fragen auf, denen „Restore Point“ teilweise nachgeht.

Harry Caul ist Privatdetektiv, spezialisiert auf Abhöraktionen aller Art. Sein letzter Auftrag war nur Routine: Mit zwei Kollegen und ultrasensiblen, selbst konstruierten Peilmikrophonen nahm er einen Dialog auf, den Ann und Mark in der Mittagspause beim Spaziergang durch den Park in dem Glauben halten, völlig unbeobachtet zu sein. Auftraggeber ist der Chef der beiden. Caul gelingt es, jedes Wort aufzunehmen. Als er dem Direktor das Band übergeben will, ist allerdings nur dessen Assistent Martin Stett anwesend – Caul besteht allerdings auf einer persönlichen Übergabe. Der Dialog der beiden Personen geht ihm nicht mehr aus dem Kopf, obwohl er nicht weiß, worum es geht. Aber er hat eine Angst: Vor Jahren wurden drei Personen nach einem erfolgreichen Abhörmanöver ermordet. Caul fürchtet, dies könne auch in diesem Fall passieren und wird von Alpträumen geplagt …

| Harry Caul is a devout Catholic and a lover of jazz music who plays |
| his saxophone while listening to his jazz records. He is a San |
| Francisco-based electronic surveillance expert who owns and operates |
| his own small surveillance business. He is renowned within the |
| profession as being the best, one who designs and constructs his own |
| surveillance equipment. He is an intensely private and solitary man |
| in both his personal and professional life, which especially irks |
| Stan, his business associate who often feels shut out of what is |
| happening with their work. This privacy, which includes not letting |
| anyone into his apartment and always telephoning his clients from |
| pay phones is, in part, intended to control what happens around him. |
| His and Stan’s latest job (a difficult one) is to record the private |
| discussion of a young couple meeting in crowded and noisy Union |
| Square. The arrangement with his client, known only to him as „the |
| director“, is to provide the audio recording of the discussion and |
| photographs of the couple directly to him alone in return for |
| payment. Based on circumstances with the director’s assistant, |
| Martin Stett, and what Harry ultimately hears on the recording, |
| Harry believes that the lives of the young couple are in jeopardy. |
| Harry used to be detached from what he recorded, but is now |
| concerned ever since the deaths of three people that were the direct |
| result of a previous audio recording he made for another job. Harry |
| not only has to decide if he will turn the recording over to the |
| director, but also if he will try and save the couple’s lives using |
| information from the recording. As Harry goes on a quest to find out |
| what exactly is happening on this case, he finds himself in the |
| middle of his worst nightmare. |

Die Abwasserrohre eines Kernkraftwerks sind undicht und Unmengen an verseuchtem Abwasser versickern im Boden. Ein Glück nur, dass der eifrige Reporter Mike an der Story dran ist und auch kurz davor steht sie publik zu machen. Pech für Mike nur, dass ihn die fiesen Firmenbosse bei einem Rundgang durch das Kraftwerk in den Giftmülltank schupsen, um genau dies zu verhindern. Doch damit hätten die Fieslinge nicht gerechnet: Mike überlebt und mutiert wegen der Strahlenüberdosis zum radioaktiv-verseuchten Racheengel. Jetzt wird mit den Yuppie-Schweinen kurzen Prozess gemacht…

Drei Tage vor Heiligabend ist die Familie Duncan auf dem Weg nach Palm Springs, um Weihnachten bei den Großeltern in deren neuem Haus zu verbringen. Teddy will während der Reise ihre Eltern dazu überreden, ihr eine Reise zum Spring-Break zu erlauben. Am Flughafen erlaubt es ihr völlig entnervter Vater Bob, sofern sie ihr Ticket selbst bezahlen kann. Im Flugzeug nimmt Teddy das Angebot der Fluglinie zu einem Freiflug wahr, wenn sie wegen der Überbuchung das Flugzeug freiwillig verlässt. Amy begleitet schließlich ihre Tochter, um sie nicht alleine nach Palm Springs fahren zu lassen.

Eines Tages, als Kokoro ihren Platz in der Schule verloren hatte und in ihrem Zimmer eingesperrt wurde, begann ein Spiegel in ihrem Zimmer vor ihren Augen plötzlich zu leuchten. Neugierig schreitet sie durch den leuchtenden Spiegel und findet ein geheimnisvolles, schlossähnliches Gebäude vor. Dort befinden sich sieben Personen, die sich in einer ähnlichen Situation wie Kokoro befinden. Ihnen wird auferlegt, einen geheimen, im Schloss versteckten „Schlüssel“ zu finden – damit könne man sich einen jeden Wunsch erfüllen lassen.
