Juha ist mit seiner Frau und Tochter an einem idyllischen See zum erholsamen Retreat, muss jedoch einen erschütternden Schicksalsschlag erleben. Seine Frau ertrinkt auf tragische Weise. Die emotionale Leere und der aufkeimende Selbsthass lassen Juha nicht mehr los. Als er Jahre später seiner Tochter ein Zungenpiercing erlaubt und sie begleitet, trifft er im SM-Studio auf Mona, eine Domina. Bei ihrer ersten Begegnung geschieht das Unglaubliche. Mona schnürrt ihm den Atem ab. Die Asphyxie löst eine trostspendende Halluzination bei Juha aus. Sein Leben bekommt einen neuen Sinn, der sich jedoch nur in absoluter Nähe zum Tod einstellt. Dazu muß er sich jedoch jedes Mal aufs Neue seiner Domina unterwerfen.
